Storms

I look around in this deserted place.
And I see all of my hopes and dreams
Everything that was once sacred to me
ground into the dirt, broken shards
of the one I used to be.
When the brightest day turns to night
And all I had within my grasp turns to ash.
My hand reaches out for you, my king.
I want to seek you for all my life.
Why does it take a tragedy to bring me back, closer to you?
I have nothing left to give, all I had is gone.
My life is nothing at all, just a brief song on the wind.
How could I have come so far, yet, still fallen short?
Why do you still give me your heart?
If you look up into the sky,
You can see all the stars
Each one dying, burning out
As the world comes to a close.
When the brightest day turns to night
And all I had within my grasp turns to ash.
My hand reaches out for you, my king.
I want to seek you for all my life.
Why does it take a tragedy to bring me back, closer to you?
Lord, You are all that is left with me.
All else has left. Left me broken and cold.
Yet, if I place my trust in you.
It will work out in the end. For,
If you look up into the sky,
You can see all the stars
Each one is dying, burning out
As the world comes to a close.
But even though its the end.
I still have your love and thats all I need.

Life has become too lonely. Left alone to my own devices, I quickly am swallowed in the depths of my broken soul. Shattered, scattered across an uncaring world that feels little remorse for any individual. I had loved too deeply than any mortal has been or is allowed to bear. So, I have been cast into the purgatory for the living dead. Destined and fated for nothing more but to chase the specters of the past and to embrace them as their fiercely burning bodies sear deep into my skin. My visage is mutilated and contorted from the pain. The union of heart and mind separated by an abyss and twisted into an unrecognizable path of hatred.

Yet, even so, one decided to strive against my persecution. One set me free from internal damnation. One rescued me from my path of selfish destruction. One wrestled my heart back from those long dead. One has stood by my side so far and has yet to steer me wrong.

Serenity within the eyes

The world is a cold and dark place,
A tragedy filled with countless losses.
Any given moment that passes
The emptiness inside breaks into my soul.
A simple monster devouring all in the shadows.
The shadows of loneliness within.
Then I look into your eyes
And I hear your voice around me.
Can you see the good you do for me?
The tranquil moments of life
Are found in the eyes.
The eyes of those that I love.
In the latest hours of the night,
The dreaming oblivion awaits
Upon the very brink of death.
The bite of a frozen heart begins
and then I awake to see you.
I look into your eyes
And I hear your voice around me.
Can you see the good you do for me?
The tranquil moments of life
Are found in the eyes.
The eyes of those that I love.
When I see your smile
Do you what it does to me?
You melt my heart, my fears.
In the eyes of loving grace, I rest.
I look into your eyes
And I hear your voice around me.
I know the good you do for me.
The tranquil moments of life
Are found in the eyes.
The eyes of those that I love.

Home

The road is cracked and broken,
A path long worn beneath our feet.
We’ve been walking for so long
But the run is still ahead.
All the ones we trust and love
Begin to fall behind in the dust.

In the darkest night
In the brightest light
We will always find a way.
A way to rest, a way to fight.
We will have a home to return to.

Every man and every woman
Needs a shelter from the waning sun.
Yet, soon we’ll come to realize
that though the road is long
and the evening obscure
We must continue onward.

In the darkest night
In the brightest light
We will always find a way.
A way to rest, a way to fight.
We will have a home to return to.

We think we all are alone
And we fail to watch the sidelines.

We will have a home to return to
And Home is where the heart is,
so they say, and I’m holding it for you.
I will be your home. Watch for me.
I’m watching over you, keeping your heart safe.
